Heidi Brown has been a Portland attorney for more than 34 years, practicing family, criminal, and civil law and handling hundreds of hearings and jury trials. Throughout her career, she has worked to ensure that everyone who appears in court is treated with fairness, respect, and dignity. Now she’s ready to bring her experience, integrity and compassion to the Multnomah County Circuit Court Family Law Judge position 14.
Heidi began her career as a public defender, serving for more than a decade, representing clients in criminal cases and spending four years in juvenile court, representing parents and children in abuse and neglect cases. She later became a partner at a law firm practicing family law, helping families navigate divorce, custody disputes, support, property division, and other life-changing legal matters.
She currently serves as a Chief Deputy City Attorney for the City of Portland, where she advises on complex legal and civic issues.
Heidi believes courts should reflect careful listening, justice, compassion, and fairness, especially in family court, where decisions profoundly affect children and families.
